Using Less Ribbon

You can save a little ribbon by not using it where it will not be seen.

When using ribbon for layouts and cards, attach the ribbon to the back edges instead of wrapping it completely around the item.

The small amount you save per card adds up when making multiple cards.

Birthday Frame Class Instructions

Instructions:

1. The clear plastic has been stamped with a sentiment in black ink. Holes have also been punched in the clear plastic, the green cardstock, and the blue pattern paper.
2. Adhere the blue pattern paper to the green cardstock. (Make sure the holes (3) are lined up.)
3. Place the green cardstock behind the clear plastic and line the holes (5) up.
4. Set the yellow, red, and orange eyelets in the three (3) holes on the right side of the green cardstock and clear plastic.
5. Thread the blue ribbon through the two (2) holes on the left side of the green cardstock and clear plastic and tie a knot. Trim the blue ribbon. 6. Place a 2”x3” photo between the blue pattern paper and the clear plastic.

Birthday Card Class Instructions

Instructions:
1. The yellow cardstock has been stamped with a sentiment in red ink.
2. Adhere the blue pattern paper to the green patterned paper. (Make sure the two are centered.)
3. Adhere the yellow cardstock with the sentiment stamped in red ink to the blue pattern paper. (Make sure the two are centered.)
4. Using and a craft knife or a small hole punch, make two small openings on both sides of the sentiment.
5. Attach the two blue brads to the cardstock and patterned paper.
6. Fold the white cardstock in half. This will be the card base. (The finished size shall be 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.)
7. Adhere the cardstock and patterned paper to the card base. (Make sure the two are centered.)

Birthday Tag Class Chat

Birthday Tag Class Instructions

Instructions:

1. Adhere the green tag to the red tag. (Make sure the two are centered.)
2. Adhere the green patterned paper to the green tag in the bottom left corner.
3. Stamp “Happy Birthday” in black ink onto the tag. (Have part of the sentiment on both the green patterned paper and the green tag.)
4. Stamp “To You” on the green tag below “Happy Birthday” in black ink.
5. Punch a 1/8” hole through the tag near the top.
6. Set the orange eyelet in the previously punched hole.
7. Adhere the yellow cardstock with the present stamped on it to the tag below “Happy”. (Use a pop dot to give it a 3D effect.)
8. Place a small blue gem in the top left corner of the green patterned paper.
9. Slide the yellow ribbon through the eyelet and tie a knot. Trim the yellow ribbon.

Note: The tags were pre-cut using a Quickutz Tag die. In other post we’ll show you other ways you can make a tag. We’ll also show you how to set an eyelet.

Welcome to Distinctive Moments’ Online Classroom.

Here you’ll find various free basic and project classes. We’ll also provide information on our fee based workshops and crops.

We decided to use a basic blog format for our classroom. You are encouraged to post comments to the blog posts.

To the right you’ll find the following sections:

Be sure to check the announcement section regularly to learn about upcoming events, prize winners and other announcements. You’ll also be able to find class, workshop, and crop information in the corresponding sections. There will be videos showing basic techniques as well as some of our classes. Lastly, we will use Google Talks for our scheduled chats (This application can be downloaded).

All classes will be available for at least a month. New classes will be listed on Sundays. Each class will have at least one scheduled chat. Participation prizes will be provided for the classes.

Two types of classes will be available in our classroom:

Basic Classes

Learn basic scrapbooking, card making and paper crafting techniques. These classes will be available indefinitely in our classroom.

Videos of basic techniques will be available for viewing. At least one chat will be scheduled per month to discuss the basics.

Project Classes
In our project classes, you’ll have a chance to complete a specific project. You can use your own supplies or purchase a kit in our Shop.

Project Classes will be available for at least a month. New Project Classes will be listed on Sundays. Each class will have at least one scheduled chat. Participation prizes will be provided for the classes.
